The Courage to Come Home to Yourself: Simple Nervous System Practices

🌾 The Courage to Come Home to Yourself

There is a quiet courage in choosing to live as your authentic self, not the polished version that knows the answers, but the raw, questioning one that whispers: I don’t know anymore, but I want to live my truth.

These past few years have been a season of release and trust. Letting go of what I thought life should look like has asked me to soften into the unknown again and again. Beneath the discomfort, something wild and alive is stirring, like new shoots pressing through the dark earth after winter.

Lately, I have been questioning beliefs that once felt certain. Maybe that is part of growing, shedding old truths so we can experience life more directly, through the body, through presence, through trust.

The nervous system does not rush transformation. When fear or doubt arise, I return to my body: the movement of breath, the weight of my feet on the ground, the light shifting through the window. These small acts of noticing are roots, simple ways to remind myself that I am safe, held, and connected.

A gentle grounding practice

🌬 Notice your breath. Can you let it soften?
🌿 Feel the ground beneath you, steady and patient, holding you.
💧 Ask yourself: What am I ready to release? What new energy am I welcoming in?
🔥 Move as the wind moves the trees, gently and with flow.

Authenticity is not something we find; it is what remains when everything false falls away. Peace does not come from control but from trust, from allowing life to unfold in its own wild intelligence.

If you are between endings and beginnings, remember: grounding in your body is the direct route to peace.

• Where in my body do I feel resistance or readiness for change?
• What helps me feel grounded when I do not have all the answers?
• How can I soften into the mystery instead of trying to solve it?

Hello friends, Sometimes life asks us to pause and to take a closer look at the stories we've been telling ourselves. Which beliefs about who you are, what you desire, or your place in the world, no longer feel true? Here is Guatemala, I'm navigating a new chapter, place, culture, language and it is reminding me how growth asks us to step into the unfamiliar. Like seeds in the soil, we all grow in our own time and in different environments. Some old beliefs may need space to shift, so that...

If I don’t push, will I still be held? As a practitioner, I was trained to push. Outcomes, progress, strength. As a human, I learned that pushing often comes from fear and systems, rather than creativity, alignment, truth. Slowing down didn’t mean giving up responsibility or not taking action. It meant listening more carefully. Breathing more deeply. Noticing what feels true. Showing up for myself in a way that feels aligned and authentic. When I act from a grounded place in my body, not from...

Dear friend, I wanted to share something close to my heart with you. I’ve created a gentle seven day guide called Your Body Is Home to support slow, embodied reconnection with your body and your nervous system. Each day offers just a few minutes of breath, subtle movement, and nature based reflection, designed for real life, sensitive nervous systems, and moments when you feel a little frazzled or disconnected. One reader described it as “a genuinely soothing and grounding experience, like a...
